Call for Proposals
The RT Room encourages teachers, preservice teachers, university faculty, librarians, administrators, undergraduate and graduate students and educational consultants to submit proposals for online sessions.
The RT Room invites session proposals related to Reader’s Theatre (RT) such as best practices, innovation, fluency, e-learning, online learning communities, social media, blogging, and mobile learning. Any proposal related to how RT is enhancing classroom curriculum or after school activities (for both teachers and students) will be considered. Proposals that have practical application of RT for educators, as well as those that include practical application of technology to enhance their teaching or make it more efficient are highly encouraged. Proposals can also discuss research related to using RT in the K-12 and university classrooms.
Types of Sessions, including but not limited to:
Presentation Sessions: These sessions are 5-15 minutes in length in video format (YouTube), Podcast, Prezi or Power Point. Prezi or Power Point presentations are not required to have audio. These sessions will demonstrate practical application of RT in education or share research conducted using RT in the K-12 or university environment. (Other formats will be accepted)
Poster Sessions: These sessions feature a graphic display (include photos, graphs, etc…) of research projects or how RT is being implemented in the K-12 or university classroom. These can be submitted as a JPEG or an online portfolio with images.
Spark Sessions: These sessions are videos less than 2 minutes in length that briefly tell about a great idea using RT in the classroom or provide an overview of a lesson plan or script that can easily be used by teachers or students.
Please include any handouts/documents for download with your presentation. Video presentations can include (but are not limited to) video of demonstrations, screen recording, Google+ Hangout discussions, etc… If creating a video on a mobile device, create in landscape mode instead of portrait. If submitting a video already online (YouTube, etc...), provide the link to the video when submitting proposal.
